Born Secure. Designed to Scale.
Born Secure.
Behind a user-friendly solution is a highly secure and precise technology combining overt & covert materials, high-definition optical tools and digital encryption.
Reyal™ Signature
All Reyal solutions are given a bespoke Reyal Signature, created using specially engineered nano-materials that produce highly precise and distinct nano-scale signals.
Reyal™ Reader
Reyal Reader is equipped with a high-definition optical sensor that detects Reyal Signature signals accurately down to the nanometer, ensuring even visually identical counterfeit goods are detected. Data from every authentication scan, including geotagged information, is collected, digitalized, encrypted, and stored wirelessly in the secured cloud and can be accessed through Reyal Suite.
Reyal™ App
Product information shown in Reyal App is customized for your business and can be further personalized by the rights assigned to each user, showing only information that matters to the individual to avoid information overload.
Designed to Scale.
Reyal Signature is implemented cost-effectively and consistently in- and on- products for unlimited solution designs in various quantities, sizes, product types and manufacturing locations.
SILKSCREEN PRINTING
Silkscreen printing, or serigraphy, is performed using photo-sensitive materials to create a stencil-like screen mesh for fast, high-quality, consistent printing regardless of quantity.
A photo-sensitive coating is applied onto a fine polyester mesh stretched across a roller frame. The coating is then exposed to light through a film that contains positive spaces of the image to be printed; This causes the coating to harden in the non-imaged areas. The unexposed (unhardened) areas are then washed away, leaving behind the negative image or graphic overlay on the screen mesh creating a stencil for inks to flow. The ink is then pressed through the stencil and screen mesh by a squeegee blade, and the final printed image is produced on the substrate and cured through an ultraviolet (UV) conveyor drying station.
Reyal Signature materials can be added into silkscreen printing inks, blended with a variety of specialized inks and/or chemicals, then silkscreen-printed on a variety of substrates for fully customizable labels, stickers, and packaging materials, including:
Paper
Plastics (PET, PC, PMMA, PP, PS, ABS, PU)
Rubber
Metals
Bring together silkscreen printing and Reyal Signature (overt, covert, or both) and you have a secure counterfeit protection technology that transforms your screen-printed designs into a unique product identification and brand protection solution.
GRAVURE PRINTING
Rotogravure - gravure for short - is a type of intaglio direct printing process which utilizes an engraved metal cylinder fixed to a rotary printing press. Gravure printing is best for fine, detailed images and is widely adopted for the manufacturing of products and packaging materials as it offers excellent print quality even at high production speeds. Gravure cylinders are also extremely durable and a set can be reused for millions of prints.
The engravings, or cells, on the gravure cylinder show the final image to be printed. Minute differences in the depth of the cells allow coloured printing in a wide variety of shades; A deeper cell picks up less ink creating a lighter shade than a cell with a shallower depth.
Reyal Signature materials can be added into the ink tray and is compatible with solvent-based or water-based gravure printing inks. During printing, the engraved cylinder is immersed in the ink tray then pressed directly against the printing substrate to create the final image.
Pair gravure printing with Reyal Signature (overt, covert, or both) and you have a secure counterfeit protection technology that is unique, highly flexible and provides uniform colour and copies throughout a high volume print run.
FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING
Flexographic printing - flexo for short - is one of the most popular print methods as it offers high quality, flexibility and productivity.
Flexo is a technique that uses flexible printing plates made of rubber or photopolymer; The printing plates are wrapped around metal cylinders and ink is picked up from the ink tray. Inked printing plates have a raised image and rotate at high speeds to transfer the ink through small holes from the anilox roller onto the printing substrate; each ink color requires a separate printing plate.
Reyal Signature materials can be added into water-based, solvent-based or UV/EB curing inks for flexo printing on a broad range of substrates, including:
Paper
Cartonboard
Plastics
Thin Film
Shrink Sleeves
Lamitube
Rubber
Metals
Combine flexo printing with Reyal Signature (overt, covert, or both) and you have a secure counterfeit protection technology designed to protect your brand across multiple industries and product categories.
EXTRUSION - PLASTIC, METAL & BEYOND
Extrusion is a mass manufacturing process in which raw materials are melted and formed into high volume products consistently.
The extrusion process begins by pouring raw materials in the form of pellets, granules, flakes or powders into the feed hopper. The raw material is gradually melted as it moves through the barrel of the extruder and the molten material is pushed through a shaping die transforming it into the final product, also known as extrudate. Extrusion is a common method for manufacturing sheets, film, pipes, tubes and structural components.
Reyal Signature materials can be added into the feed hopper and blended with raw materials for extrusion, including:
Polymers
Metals
Ceramic
Concrete
By deeply embedding Reyal Signature into authentic products through extrusion, it becomes impossible to separate product from packaging. This successfully overcomes the major challenge brands face with counterfeiters recycling original product packaging/labels and re-packaging or re-filling it with fraudulent goods that appear genuine to unsuspecting customers.
OFFSET PRINTING
Offset printing is a widely used printing technique that involves the transfer of ink from a plate to a rubber blanket and then onto the printing surface. Hence, the name "offset", as it is not applied directly to the substrate.
It is commonly used for commercial printing of items like brochures, magazines, newspapers, posters, packaging materials, and many other printed materials. Offset printing remains a popular choice for high-quality, large-scale printing projects due to its cost-effectiveness and versatility.
Reyal Signature materials can be added to the ink reservoir and are compatible with oil-based and UV-curing inks. The different inks, including CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) and Reyal Signature, are applied to the plate using a series of rollers. These inks are carefully deposited onto the plate, adhering precisely to the image areas while being effectively repelled by the non-image areas.
By integrating offset printing with Reyal Signature, a robust counterfeit protection technology is achieved, offering exceptional compatibility and cost-effectiveness for large-scale production runs.
